History of the Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership fund

Currently Camperships from this Fund are only being used for youth aged 8-19 to attend the 2022 Los Angeles County 4-H Summer Camp which will be held in July 1-5, 2022 at Camp Mile High Pines, in Angelus Oaks, CA. Camperships are available to 4-H members regardless of the County or State they live. For more information about Camp, see www.4Hsummercamp.com. For 24 years the R.P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund has been providing funds and financial assistance for campers and volunteer staffers to attend 4-H Summer Camp, operated by Los Angeles County 4-H. As of 2018, there have been 1,155 children who have been awarded a partial or full campership to attend 4-H Summer Camp from the Memorial Campership Fund. Since the first camperships were awarded in 1994, $205,691 has been disbursed in camperships from the Fund. The Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund is an IRS 501c(3) non-profit organization (TIN 95-4021646). 100% of all contributions to the Fund are used to send kids to camp - all expenses to operate the Campership Fund are provided out of pocket by the Fund Trustees.. History of the Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund
Robert P. Amman was a 4-H member who lived in Saugus, California and who loved the 4-H Summer Camp program. Robert was the Head Youth Director for the Los Angeles County 4-H Summer Camp in 1981 and he died in 1985 at the age of 22 in Big Bear, California. In his memory, the Fund Trustees, David E. Lewis, Dennis DeYoung and Carrie DeYoung established the Robert. P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund have awarded camperships in the following years and dollar amounts:

The Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund offers partial and full camperships up to a maximum of $150.00 per youth. Application deadline is June 3, 2022. Applications will be available online after April 1st on this website or the 4Hsummercamp.com website.
